Why is it not organic ?
Our dermatologist chose a vegetable capsule made of pullulan produced from starch. However, this type of capsule is not accepted by the organic certification label. However, we chose it because it has no recognized danger, unlike the HPMC accepted by the organic label - abbreviation of hydroxypropylmethylcellulose or hypromellose - which is a cellulose ether.
There has been debate over the levels of PCH (propylene chlorohydrin) impurities in this additive. PCH is a residue suspected of being mutagenic.
We therefore preferred the vegetable capsule in pullulan while maximizing the percentage of organic active ingredients in the capsule to meet Alaena's demanding specifications, namely 61% of the total ingredients come from organic farming.
