THE  Cosmos Organic repository bans Sodium laureth sulfate ethoxylated detergent  very  contested  because it is carcinogenic.  precursor sodium lauryl sulfate is a surfactant widely used in cosmetics. It is produced  from palm oil. It has a very strong foaming and detergent power but it is very irritating and drying on the skin, and  toxic to the  aquatic environment.

At Alaena, our formulation charter is very demanding and we do not use any sulfates. In the Bathroom Collection, we have replaced them with  original mild detergents  plant-based and biodegradable (therefore respecting aquatic environments)  for gentle cleansing with foam  light.

This is in the INCI list of sodium  cocoate (form  saponified from  coconut oil which gives a very soft foam),  lauryl glucoside (mild non-ionic surfactant of plant origin) and sodium cocoyl glutamate (made from coconut oil fatty acids and an extract of  natural protein glutamate).

Sometimes when switching from a shampoo/conditioner that contains silicone, you have to be prepared for a transition period.
Conventional shampoos contain silicones and derivatives that serve to coat the hair to make it shine.
