The Alaena Spa is housed in a building constructed by the Biarritz-based architectural firm Pastre-Gardera, adjacent to Dr. Peres's cosmetic surgery practice. Named Azala, meaning skin in Basque, the building features a double wooden skin covered with a metal structure, giving it a modernist appearance and allowing air circulation to reduce energy consumption.

The client moves around bubbles of care, skirting the play of light and views of the sky, amidst lush vegetation. Here, no wall is straight, and one loses one's bearings. One enters a bubble of care as one enters a cocoon for a moment of intimate well-being.

The Basque Country is full of unique expertise and family businesses and cooperatives whose history inspires us. All driven by a desire for local economic development, strong commitments, and passionate teams. A story of passing down from generation to generation. A subtle blend of tradition and modernity.
Alki
Alki is a furniture workshop founded in 1981 in Itsasu, a small village in the Basque Country, in a rural, little-industrialized environment. It was to try to remedy this that the company was created on the initiative of five friends who united their ideas, their strengths and their hopes.
Imbued with its ancestral and technological know-how, Alki today offers a contemporary interpretation of conviviality and distributes its products throughout the world, participating in the development of numerous spaces.
At the Alaena Spa, you'll find the Lasai chair in the herbal tea room : a space where you can take the time to enjoy an infusion after your treatment.
Designed by Jean Louis Iratzoki “as an invitation to relax”, the work on the Lasai armchair was centered on a simple architecture, close to the standards of Hans Wegner, in the spirit of Alki.

The Japanese Bath by Nendo Design studio
Oki Sato, born in 1977 in Toronto, Canada, is the founder of the Japanese design studio Nendo. After studying architecture at Waseda University in Tokyo, he decided to launch his own studio, Nendo, in 2002. Now world-renowned, he collaborates with major international designers.
Nendo, meaning "modeling clay," reflects the desire for flexibility and the ability to reinvent oneself. The Japanese designer draws inspiration from Japanese purity to create a grammar rooted in its time.
A signature treatment at Spa Alaena, the Japanese Bath evokes a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere with its clean, minimalist design. Immersed in warm, milky water infused with flower petals, you'll unwind. A scalp massage encourages relaxation and inner peace. A moment of bliss that continues with a back massage in the cabin.
